Mr. E. Edward Williams - Founder

While our founder has retired from active involvement in the Company he has remained active in the affairs of the Detroit area glazing industry by participating in several committees, as well as at the state level. He was one of the founders of the Detroit Glass Dealers Association, which is the oldest Glass Association in the United States. He served this Association at every official level and was awarded the Glass Dealer of the Year award.

He was also one of the founders of the National Glass Association, and was elected as President of this Association. While serving on the Board of this association he served on many committees including the Labor/Management Committee, the Estimating and Take Off Handbook Committee as well as the National Convention Committee for many years.

Ed was also instrumental in the formation of the Glazing Contractors Association in Detroit. He served on the Board for many years, and as President of the Association. He was also instrumental in negotiating the Labor Agreements on the part of the Multi-Employer Association.

Toward the close of his career he was inducted into the National Glass and Metal Industry Hall of Fame. This is awarded to someone who has given a significant contribution to the Industry. Giving back to the Industry is something that Ed (Uncle Ed) Williams has always done, many times at great personal sacrifice.
